Being Grateful for Our Mistakes
Hi Folks,
In our last newsletter, I talked about how I’ve been turning fear into excitement as I move into this next chapter of my life. This week, I go further into how I’ve been managing this transition and hope to inspire all of you to embrace change and step into the unknown with confidence.
One technique that’s been incredibly helpful is listing my victories to remember what I’ve done to give a big ol' shout-out to my own awesomeness. But I take it a step further. After listing my achievements, I also write down my biggest “regrets/mistakes” and how they’ve turned into unexpected wins or golden opportunities.
For instance, my first marriage didn’t work out as I had hoped. But if it hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t have ended up in Bushwick. Without Bushwick, I wouldn’t have met my amazing husband, Adam. (Without Adam, there’d be no Grace; Grace: my bright and shining sunshine.) Adam’s unwavering support was actually what gave me the courage to expand Mahalo Massage NYC from the little side hustle it was.
So as I transition away from Mahalo and embark on a new journey, I know I’ll make mistakes along the way. But I’m looking forward to seeing how those mistakes will create new opportunities for growth and gratitude. And there’s this Marta truth bomb, “We will die with a to-do list.” There’s always more to explore, more to achieve. Life is a continuous journey.
So enjoy the process, embrace imperfections, and stay curious.
With Care,
Bob
