Resilience

One major American holiday down with several more to go.  Some parents are getting a little reprieve from juggling work life and home life as their children head back to school.  A Covid 19 vaccine may be in our near future.  Soon, a new president will be in office carrying the histories of all who came before as he navigates our future.  Yet, as is natural in the northern hemisphere, the sun is setting still earlier everyday as we head towards winter.  Even though the future looks optimistic for many of us, tis’ the season or, some may argue, tis the year for a little malaise.  Perhaps in the guise of hebetude?

In light of my somewhat defiant nature (I think of it as resilience though my mother probably would not have thought so) I have offerings for our current milieu.  There are two articles from the New York Times and one podcast from the one and only podcast I listen to.  These have heartened me so I hope they do the same for you.  Please enjoy!
